Electrical Contracts / Operations Manager Job | Plymouth | £55,000+

The client

Our client is a leading Electrical and Mechanical sub-contractor formulated in the late 70's working across the Cornwall/Plymouth area. With a turnover of approximately £5m, they specialise in new build, quality residential developments for the likes of Kier, GallifordTry and Linden Homes. Due period of sustainable growth, the company is now looking to recruit a second in command, to work closely with the Director.

 

The Role

As Electrical Contracts Manager, you will be the second in command for the business, responsible for overseeing the Electrical elements of projects, tendering work, estimating, overseeing a team of engineers & project staff, and liaising with clients and stakeholders.

 

Working alongside the company director, you will be responsible for running the electrical side of the business, helping to drive the business forward, managing relationships with housing developers, scheduling work and future work winning. Something with a strong commercial background is advantageous, as you'll need to have the ability to maximise profitability while maintaining quality and efficiency.

 

This role has the very real progress to becoming a company director.

 

The requirement

You will be a qualified Electrician, with new home construction experience/background. Ideally, you will have experience in electrical estimating for new-build homes. Experience managing staff, with client-facing abilities. Ideally, you will have some experience with renewable installations e.g. EV charging, solar; although this is a bonus. Be a qualified NICEIC person as you'll act as the 1st point of contact for the NICEIC. NEBOSH is also preferable, but similar Health and Safety qualifications are also acceptable.

 

The package

The client is looking for the right person to join the business in a senior position and help them along their continued route to success. Because of this, the package is completely negotiable for the right person.

As an indicator, the salary is likely to be around £55,000 - £60,000 with a performance-led bonus by way of profit share. Beyond this, benefits can be negotiated around Healthcare, annual leave and pension contributions. Above all, this role has the very real opportunity to progress to a company director position, in which case the salary/benefits will increase accordingly.
